ABOUT ME
Masters in Creative Arts Therapies (Drama) & Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy from Concordia University
My name is Rafaela Diaz-Byers, and I offer therapeutic play, creative arts therapy, and parent coaching services.
I hold a Master’s in Creative Arts Therapies (Drama) from Concordia University and a Graduate Certificate in Play Therapy, with advanced training in Child-Centered Play Therapy, Group Child-Centered Play Therapy, and Child-Parent Relational Therapy. I am also a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC).
My practice focuses on children and families, using a client-centered, trauma-informed, and strength-based approach. I help children navigate anxiety, attachment challenges, familial separation, emotional regulation, self-esteem, and developmental disabilities through creative and evidence-based methods. I also offer parent coaching to help strengthen parent-child relationships and support emotional well-being at home and school.
My therapeutic approach aims at creating a safe, engaging space where children can process emotions, build resilience, and develop coping skills through creative exploration.
I am a Professional Member of the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) possessing a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) designation, the Academy of Naturopaths and Naturotherapists of Canada (ACNN), and the North American Drama Therapy Association (NADTA).
